ICS Computing & Steria win 18 million N.I Government EDRMS contract
01 September 2006
ICS Computing and Steria have just won an 18 million EDRMS contract, the largest project of its kind in Europe. The solution which will be rolled out to 17,500 users will be implemented as a managed service to store all unstructured data such as emails and office working documents generated by civil servants.
The project known as Electronic Document Records Management Implementation (EDRMI) will improve traceability of emails and documents as well as facilitating "joined up" government through sharing of information between and across departments.
The solution involves the installation, configuration and set up of a centralised TRIM EDRMS system that will be accessed by all Northern Ireland Civil Service (NICS) departments across the government's Public Sector Network, a disaster recovery system that replicates the centralised EDRMS system, secure and powerful data communications links between the data centre, a disaster recovery centre and Steria's managed services, training for the TRIM users and support for TRIM users once they are live on the system.
