With the Review of Public Administration (RPA) and consolidation of the Public Sector including Health, Education and Councils in Northern Ireland, the importance of Data Quality has become pivotal. It is now recognised as being core to the successful implementation of business systems throughout the world. Leading market research organisations have been carrying out research on data quality and have made significant findings - the PWC Global Data Management Survey found that 75% of respondents reported significant problems as a result of defective data.

ICS & Steria win the largest EDRMS contract in Europe

The solution which will be rolled out to 17,500 users will be implemented as a managed service to store all unstructured data such as emails and office working documents generated by civil servants.

One of the biggest Government IT contracts in recent months has gone to Belfast-based ICS Computing. Arthur Scott, the Chief Executive of the Rate Collection Agency, congratulated David Mawhinney, Managing Director of local company ICS Computing Ltd, on securing the multi-million pound contract to replace the RCA's current computer system. Development of the replacement IT system, says the Agency, will facilitate the development of the government's rating reform programme and provide a platform for modern streamlined business processes.

ICS Computing, Northern Ireland’s leading indigenous software and services company has just announced a strategic relationship with G.B. based Xansa. Xansa was formed in 2001 as a result of a merger between leading consulting, systems development and outsourcing providers and employs over 5,000 staff.
Xansa is regarded as a market leader in the implementation and running of finance packages such as Oracle and SAP and has recently been named as preferred bidder to enter into a Joint Venture with the NHS for providing finance and accounting services to the NHS in England. Xansa already runs the finance and accounting function for BT processing some £13bn of expenditure, using the Oracle Financials Product. Xansa also provides services of similar scope and scale to clients such as Boots, 02, MyTravel, Barclays and Royal Mail.

The certificate recognises best practice for companies that ensure they minimise the impact of their operations on the environment.

Richmond Marketing is well known in the industry for its distribution of high profile adult soft drinks, such as Red Bull, Kombucha, Ame and Aqua Libra, as well as the Chinese Amoy range of products.
The company has grown dramatically since it was founded in 1995 to the point where it is now sending out around 150,000 cases a month, principally of soft drinks.

Business Census is 40,000 red letter day for ICS

‘Post-traumatised’ staff at ICS were in celebratory mood this week with the final despatch of a census which is being mailed to around 40,000 businesses in Northern Ireland.
Staff at ICS’s headquarters in Airport Road West have produced and arranged distribution of all the forms connected to the mammoth mailing which is being sent to every employer as part of the Northern Ireland Census of Employment.

New Diver Product Is Set To Rocket

ICS, the software solutions company, has obtained exclusive UK rights to market a new business intelligence software which will achieve new depths in data retrieval and analysis.
The product, DI-Diver, has been created by Dimensional Insight, a US-based software development house which specialises in data delivery. It is already in widespread use in the US, particularly in the food, drink and distribution industries.

The ICS Innovative Software Division today announced its strategy for i-enabling and e-enabling the public sector.
Brian Hill, Director of ICS spoke of how ICS were ready to i-enable and e-enable legacy systems so that the public sector could make in roads to meeting e-government and Freedom of Information Acts set by Tony Blair. There was a keen interest in the presentation with a packed audience of in excess of 85 key IT personnel representing Northern Ireland’s central government departments including the Assembly, agencies, councils and healthcare trusts.
